Review: MONQ Personal Aromatherapy Diffuser

I have been pursuing natural living ever since my first little one was born. Over the past two years I have dived deep into herbal remedies, aromatherapy, being extremely eco-conciousous, and all the ‘crunchy’ goodness I can use and apply to mine and my family’s life. I stumbled across MONQ about a year ago and was intrigued by their product. After researching their product and constantly looking at their Instagram I decided to take the leap and buy the 7 blend pack they offer.

What is MONQ?

MONQ is the first portable personal aromatherapy diffuser. They are available in 7 different blends: Zen, Vibrant, Happy, Healthy, Active, Sexy, and Sleepy. All of which are organic, natural, non-gmo, tobacco free and absolutely no artificial ingredients. This product is by no means an e-cigarette! It is solely a personal essential oil diffuser. Each blend promotes mood change and various effects through essential oils and wild plant extracts. Instead of topically applying the essential oils to your skin or diffusing oils in a traditional diffuser, you can directly inhale the aromatherapy into your olfactory system.

Is MONQ Safe?

One of my concerns was the safety of using MONQ since you’re inhaling the oils I wanted to make sure there were no harmful ingredients or chemicals. I studied their webpage and their FAQ page to learn all I could about the ingredients, the kind of oils used, the distillation process and more. That’s the first thing I really loved is their webpage is FULL of information. As I mentioned before MONQ is 100% free of nicotine, tobacco, synthetic chemicals, and artificial ingredients. Again, it is NOT an e-cigerette! All ingredients are GMO free, organic and completely safe. That said, if you are allergic to essential oils, obviously you won’t be able to use these. If you have allergies to specific oils make sure to check out the full list of ingredients used for each blend HERE.

The website states:

For all 7 MONQ blends, USA-grown organic plants, when available, are extracted and then infused into 100% pure, food-grade vegetable glycerin, which the FDA recognizes as safe. Lab tests have found MONQ NOT to include formaldehyde, nickel, tin, lead or aluminum.

Overall Thoughts?

I received my package within just a few days-insanely fast shipping! As soon as I opened the package it smelled divine. The packaging itself was cute and minimalistic, a little box with some info in it. Onto the product itself; I absolutely LOVE it! They are not overwhelmingly strong, they have a pleasant taste and are easy to use. Just couple deep breaths of it worked great for me. It’s a nice addition to that cleansing deep breath that we take when we are relaxing or de-stressing. I feel the effects almost instantly but not overwhelmingly. It’s a subtle but noticeable uplift. There’s no crash or withdrawal effect as it wears off and no demanding need for more as the day goes on since they don’t contain any addictive ingredients. You don’t smell the vapor you exhale, so you don’t have to worry about irritating those around you. Although I choose to only use mine at home because I don’t like the stigma of it looking like an e-cigarette, especially since when I’m in public it’s with my children. People tend to be judgy and I like to avoid all that by using them in the comfort of my home. Just my personal preference and comfortability.

The only other factor I was considering is what to do with the container once empty. I’m working really hard to reduce the amount of waste I produce. Low and behold they offer an awesome recycling program! If you send them 10 empty devices they will send you back a free MONQ. How cool is that?! Overall I love the product and company. Make sure to go check out their website, Facebook, and Instagram.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
