Day 1: Random Acts of Kindness

It’s Day 1 of our Random Acts of Kindness! Yay! I’m really looking forward to the next 25 days and everything we are going to be doing to give back!

Today we wrote a letter to a soldier/veteran. Our 4 year old is camping with my in-laws and our 11 year old is at her mom’s house. So today it’s myself, our 21 month old son, and my husband doing this act of kindness. My husband is a veteran and he wanted to join in on writing a letter of thanks for our troops. I think  that is awesome since he can relate to the men and women in service and those who have served previously.

Here’s a picture of our letters we sent out in the mail today!

There are so many great sites that you can go through to send letters and care packages to our military and veterans. The one we chose was operationgratitude.com. Make sure and check them out! I will also leave a list of other sites at the end of this post that you can donate and get involved with to help out our military service members and veterans.

This is such a great way to show our appreciation to the men and women who have served  and those who are unable to be with their families during the holidays. They have made so many sacrifices in order for us to have the freedoms we have today. Sending a letter thanking them is such an easy way to show our gratitude. It’s also an easy task for kids to be involved in as well! Little ones can color a picture and you can write a note on the back for them. If you have a child who is able to write, having them write the letter is awesome.

If you’re looking to send a letter, care package or to donate money for our military and veterans, here are a few other great sites to check out!

amillionthanks.org, soldiersangels.org, adoptaussoldier.org, bluestarmoms.org, supportmilitaryspouses.org, redcross.org, acescares.org

Don’t forget to spread some kindness! It’s contagious 🙂
